Why I want to go to this place

Two reasons. I watched the National Geographic’s Polarbear Cam video from the Tundra Buggies. And, I just met someone who went this year. They had a great time watching the bears gather before they went out on the ice.

Worth visiting!

i love remote and beautiful ..

and this place has both in abundance!
i love that you can hear each and every footstep echo softly down into the perma frost, i love that it is always the ‘magic hour’ for photography, i love that you can never run out of ice for your margarita, i love the ritual of layering and unlayering each time you step through a doorway, i love being woken and dragged outside to see the aurora borealis, i love skating by moonlight, i love the peace and quiet of february, i love that i got to walk on the ocean, i love the whacky one sided trees, i love the art and sculpture, i love that i have experienced this magical place.

Our plane broke down and we spent a week in Churchill. Because it was out of season our crew were the only ones in the hotel. The owner was amazing. Made us group suppers, opened the bar and told us to tell him what we had in the morning and said to help ourselves to the trucks outside. Talking about all-inclusive resorts…

Didn’t see any polar beers, which I guess is a good thing. As told to me: there are 2 ways to get away from a polar beer.

1 – run faster than your friend.
2 – if your friend is faster – trip him.

Polar Bear Country - Churchill

The polar bear is the main attraction and tourism for Churchill, there has been visitors there from people all over the world. It’s quite amazing how they load people into a buggy and go see the polar bears, i would be scared to go see them. Although it is very safe, i would rather see a polar bear from afar.

the polar bears

Could go there via the river routes in birch bark canoes. Maybe I can get there at the right time to hunt a polar bear.
