Sun Valley

I’ve been there about a dozen times in my 20s, but can’t wait to go again…hopefully take my son for the holidays!

I would like to stay at Coyote Yurt (www.svtrek.com) which I just found a mention of in the Natl Geogr travel mag. Anyone stayed there?

Went to see Hemmingway’s grave.

Nice place. Worth staying @ the lodge. The circular 102 degree pool is great and so peaceful in the winter with the snow falling on you. Dog friendly town unless you actually want a motel that takes dogs…good luck! Great hiking. The outdoor rink(even in the summer) is nice.

Just got back from a 6 day ski trip! We were in the Edelweiss condo’s just across the street from the Warm Spring chair, couldn’t be any closer it was a great location.
I hadn’t been to Sun Valley in about 15 years, its a great mountain, the snow wasn’t great, no new in about a week, but the grooming was good and there were even some still soft moguls around.
The area has grown and boomed a lot since I was there, lots of yuppies and too many rich people. The Lodges are beautiful but seem more to be designed for rich people and not so much for skiiers. Not really much small town feel left, mostly the feel of money.

Had a great steak dinner at the Pioneer Tavern!
