Hilton Head Island

I will visit sometime, after I get back to Nicaragua.

The first and only time I’ve been to Hilton Head Island was in November 2006. The weather was perfect and the crowds were minimal. Hilton Head Island is comprised of several different “plantations” which are basically gated communities with a variety of different vacations rentals and beaches. The locals stay in one particular plantation while the tourists stay in another. At first I was hesitant to rent a “vacation home” but after researching the internet found that was the best option in regards to location, cost and activities. We rented a beautiful home in Singleton Beach through Hilton Head Rentals and Golf. They got us a good package that included golf and they even set up our tee-times. I strongly recommend renting a home with a large group or there are plenty of condos and villas available also.

Whats up with the locked areas?

A good place for the rich and the elderly—beautiful beaches but way too many people in the peak season!

I am not sure what the hype is about… Hilton Head does indeed have some posh areas that are nice, however it is not all that spectacular in my eyes. Sure the beaches are pretty, but they are not that special. I guess golfing and the salty dog are about all that I see Hilton Head having.

I went with Evie, It was fun

I went to Hilton Head for my honeymoon. It was free because some family let us use a timeshare they weren’t going to use. It was a lot of fun and our hotel was awesome! I would have liked there to be more to do in the area, though…

Summer Vacation July ‘06. Sweet vacation…nice beach, weather was fabulous!

We are in Hilton Head now with good friends and their kids. It has been great weather…we have loved our time at the beach. We would like to come back!

Hilton Head is NOT WORTH GOING TO ANYMORE. It used to be incredible – virtually private, untouched by tourists, and now it’s bustling, teeming, filled to the brim with obnoxious beachgoers & college kids on vacation. It’s awful. Skip it & find somewhere cute, like Hilton Head USED to be.
