The first and only time I’ve been to Hilton Head Island was in November 2006. The weather was perfect and the crowds were minimal. Hilton Head Island is comprised of several different “plantations” which are basically gated communities with a variety of different vacations rentals and beaches. The locals stay in one particular plantation while the tourists stay in another. At first I was hesitant to rent a “vacation home” but after researching the internet found that was the best option in regards to location, cost and activities. We rented a beautiful home in Singleton Beach through Hilton Head Rentals and Golf. They got us a good package that included golf and they even set up our tee-times. I strongly recommend renting a home with a large group or there are plenty of condos and villas available also. over 5 years agoNice, but snooty by christina10Whats up with the locked areas? over 6 years agoUntitled by lemonyellowA good place for the rich and the elderly — beautiful beaches but way too many people in the peak season! over 6 years agoUntitled by raschemaI am not sure what the hype is about… Hilton Head does indeed have some posh areas that are nice, however it is not all that spectacular in my eyes.
