Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 11 months ago

    Worth visiting!

Touristy with a mostly imported beach. Beautiful place though.

I’d advise a visit to some other parts of the island too.
The falls were so so and crowded IMO but I loved Rose Hall, and general explorations.

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I have to say it was worth going, but that being said, I am scratching it off the list and moving on. I am in no hurry to go back.

My tip for you is to change your money into $5 bills. Giving someone a $20 is just asking for trouble because they think you have money and they want it. Every person in jamaica wants your money. It’s pretty annoying.

Beautiful people, beautiful place… (Away from the Tourons… go to the west end… the cliff side is the best place, there is too much mix up with foreigners on the beach side of negril :)

Point Village Resort  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I was 18 and I went with my hubby. We had the time of our life and we have a goal to return to this resort once every 4 years.
The weed is unbeleivable, the drinks are amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful and the ppl are genuine. The waiters, waitresses, bartenders, entertainment, food, snorkeling, the beach, the water, The fishing, the tourist from different countries, the other resorts we walked through, everything that we experienced I can close my eyes and remember every little wonderful detail…I wish that every person can experience going to Jamaica and just sit by the bar, gaze at a beautiful beach, smoke a joint,( well, you can’t smoke a joint right there at the bar..I will tell you that much) listen to Bob Marley, and have the bartender look at you and say..”Yeah mon’..”
Also, when my gy and I would walk by some of the men..they would look at me..then look at my hubby and say “Respect mon’- Respect.” Also, they normally say dont tip at an all inclusive, One bit of advice…TIP! When there is a line at the one bar that is open at ten at night, and your the one person that tipped the bartender that day..they will walk right by the ppl that have been waiting 15 minutes and come straight to you to take your order..no B.S.
Also, If you go on the six mile beach..or go out of the resort shopping, ppl will hound you to buy things…buy weed, buy roots, buy a necklace..hey..buy this purse I just found on the beach…so on so forth…It is a poor country and you will notice that as you drive through to your resort, i dont think it would kill any one to buy a $5 necklace from someone…Or a seashell that a fisherman just pulled out of the water…I would wait until your leaving the beach or the area to buy something from the locals though..Because they have a way of communicaing and if you walk on th beach and buy a necklace, its like every one on that beach knows you just bought something and they are looking for you to sell more to..

Best Holiday I've Ever Had!!!!!  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

My husband and I stayed at Sunset at the Palms in Negril. It is by far the most beautiful place I have ever been. The rooms are treetop cabins which are beautifully decorated and private. The food is all fresh and all the fruit and veg are grown on site. The service is above reproach. My most favourite place thus far. I highly recommend it to couples and families.

A review of this place  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

Though I’m glad we went, I’m not sure I’d go back. Being constantly accosted by locals trying to sell you things or hit on you got really old. Even the catamaran tour stopped at an island and they basically wouldn’t let us back on the boat till we bought enough from the locals selling jewelry and carved figures. The sand fleas were a bitch, too. It really was a beautiful place, though.

Royal Kitchen  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

The best time ever was the time we spent at the Royal Kitchen, with the Royal family…they took us in as a part of the family and showed us how to have a great time-Jamaican style! I miss them all sooo much!
