The Bake Shop

Even if it’s not ski season I am willing to drive 45minutes to eat at the Bake Shop.

The soup is addicting. It comes in a homemade breadbowl and it’s served hot and steaming. The small restraunt is a perfect stop after a long day of skiing or boarding in the cold. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I sent Gary (owner of El Greco in Seattle) to this joint when he was visiting Girdwood. He begged them for their Cinnamon roll recipe—I think they wouldn’t divulge. Great home cooking and right at the base of Mt. Alyeska, the big ski resort in Alaska. The Bake Shop is a must visit when in Girdwood.
