They’ve grown since I was there, but like most small towns I’m sure it hasn’t changed much. Historic Hotel

This is the original hotel, built in 1927. Our rooms are very unique although small in size. We offer rooms both with a private bath or a shared bath down the hall. Our rooms are located both upstairs and downstairs with no elevator. Don’t be afraid of the bathroom down the hall we offer both a men’s and a woman’s bathroom, both upstairs and down, every room has its own basin. You can come right down the stairs and enjoy our Texas sized rocking chairs while you enjoy the peace and quite of Marathon, Texas.

Los Portales

Every room has its own front porch covered area, where you can sit and forget about everything else in the world. Enjoy the sounds of birds and the smell of roses as you have your morning gourmet coffee. Every room is uniquely arranged with historic and museum quality artifacts, and opens to a central courtyard filled with lush landscaping. Ten of our 20 rooms in this area offer kiva style fireplaces.

The Restaurant

The Gage Hotel’s Cafe Cenizo set within a beautiful courtyard with both outdoor and indoor fireplaces, offers a level of service, quality and ambiance unsurpassed in West Texas. You can enjoy mesquite grilled black angus steaks, roasted game and regional southwestern specialties prepared by our classically trained chefs. Our staff can help you choose a wine to pair with your meal from our extensive wine selection. We offer seasonal fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit from our own Gage Gardens. Our desserts are made fresh daily in our own kitchen, and are sure to please the palette.
