If you breeze through, the entire 30 blocks which is South Beach, is enjoyable. Too much hype though.

Since I come from a town where it is practically a desert, this was a wonderful experience for me. The beach that I went to was great, even though I wasn’t fond of the saltwater :p. I loved cruising around at the night especially.

trendy trendy trendy. On south beach you know your at the edge of the country. it’s so tropical, the art deco is tight, the people are beautiful and the club scene pops! Great place to visit.

Miami
Worth visiting!
Even though I live in Miami, I have never really explored South Beach since I’ve always been more up north Miami while SoBe is in the center, and my poor mother viewed it as a nest of sin, or whatever. I had been on a field trip to an art studio on Lincoln in the 5th grade but my memory is so hazy.
So this summer, when I got a volunteer gig at the Miami Children’s Museum, my friend, Alex, and I caught a bus there after work. The first time we were on Washington Ave, and had a snack at the Smithsonian. The second time, we went to Lincoln, because I had to look for a camera while Alex looked for pajamas at Victoria’s Secret. The thing was, we had to walk 9 blocks from where we were to get to our shops, which was a good way to get a glipse of everything. Street preformers, cute boutiques, Lincoln Theater preparing for the premiere of Miami Vice later that night- it was all so new to me.
I speant maybe only an hour there, most of it in Victoria’s secret, but it was worth it. Can’t wait to go back and experience it even more. Perhaps next time actually go to the beach.

Drove by a couple of times to people watch and check out the sights. Everyone is dressed to the nines and the cars are hot.

Greenville
Worth visiting!
It’s a little surreal and very vibrant. It’s not a place for deep, reflective travel. It’s full of beautiful people, great food, and bad service :D If you go looking for flaws, you’ll find them. If you go looking for beauty and fun, you find that, too. (That’s actually my philosophy for all travel, though.)

JenSaysThis asks,
“I'm heading to South Beach w/girlfriends for a 3-day weekend. Our prime directive is to sun away our winter blues on the beach, but we'd like to see a few sights as well. Drinks @ the Delano is a must. We're trying to avoid "frats".Any suggestions?”

“I'm going to be in the South Beach area from Jan. 25-29. It's a work-related trip, but my nights will be free. My co-worker and I are looking to go out dancing as much as possible...can anyone recommend a few places for us to stop in? Thanks in advance!”
