this cobblestone really tells a story

the area of stone street is really interesting. you can feel the history around you a lot better in this part of lower manhattan

from here over to the seaport, is what strikes me. you know when you see it that this is the new york that edgar allan poe, george washington, abraham lincoln, thomas edison and all the others saw.

this manhattan is the closest the future will ever get to seeing the past.

If you think Financial District is only for suits to come to work during daytime and a ghost town in the evening and weekends, you will be surprised to see Stone Street just south of Wall Street. This one block area hosts a number of restaurants and bars. The block is packed with people with outdoor seating during the summer time. If you are a tourist in this area, and you find yourself visiting the neighborhood on Saturday or Sunday, you don’t have to settle with the fast food restaurants on Broadway. Take a quick walk down to Stone Street, and you will find some decent meals.
