Atlantic City

The Absecon lighthouse & Lucy (in Margate City) were the only worthwhile things to see in AC in the only time I’ve been there. Didn’t get to go on the boardwalk, tho.

I live here, and it’s the most exciting place on the East coast, NY excluded.

Atlantic City has a plethora of restaurants. I’ve eaten at Cuba Libre in Tropicana (as well as their Philadelphia location near 2nd and Market) and highly recommend it. La Piazza (2nd floor, Caesars) is pretty good. And of course, I’m a Baltimore guy, so I have to endorse Phillips (inside the Pier, top floor). I haven’t even scratched the surface of the good dining experiences to be had in AC yet.

This town is the biggest shithole ever. The casinos are nice, but like one block away from teh strip, there are crackpipes, needles, prostitutes, and hobos. They need to clean this shit up.

I was skeptical of how much fun AC would be since I’ve grown up going to Vegas or Indian casinos to gamble. Atlantic City is really fun though. The boardwalk is nice, the shops are good, tons of good places to eat and the casinos aren’t bad at all. I was expecting it to be an old time Vegas, but I had a great time.

Go to Las Vegas…

I spent my 30th Birthday here and it was great! I’ve stayed outside at the Fairfield Inn in Absecon which was good and I stayed with friends in April/May at the Tropicana. I’ve been to Caesars, Showboat, Bally’s ….it’s great! Vegas is better but AC has its fun and is easier to get to for us east coasters!

If you like driving through slums to go throw your money away, then you’ll love it. I actually don’t love it. Two reasons why I think one would like to go there are 1) To watch the NJ state scholastic wrestling tournament and 2) to catch an Atlantic City Surf baseball game.

I came to AC on a student work & travel program, I’m workin in one of casinos parking as a valet.

Ive been there a few times. Not really into it. I did get to escort Ms. Montana in the Ms. America pageant before it moved to Vegas. All-in-all was not worth it.
