The last time I went to this place

I made it back there, and THIS time, I actually got inside the silo. Its really an amazing thing, you can almost feel the power. I really was impressed by it.

A review of this place: Get your strangelove on.

The titan missile museum is a bit of a mixed bag, but it’s certainly a fascinating portrait of a really strange time in American history. Walking around above ground, your tour guide will give you lots of detailed but not terribly fascinating information about rocket engines etc. Once you head underground into the bunker, however, things get interseting. Just seeing how the place was built for the apocalypse and imagining yourself in that scenario is fascinating. Plus once you get to the control room you’ll get a rundown of the technology that powered the place, and how an actual launch would have gone down if it had to happen. That part’s certainly real fascinating, especially if you’re at all technically inclined.

Anyway, worth checking out, I’d say, just for the sense of history. Also, if they advise you to put on the helmet, don’t laugh. I’m 6’2” and whapped my head on a pipe. : )

The last time I went to this place

I went there, but I got there 5-10 minutes after the last tour left. So I was able to look around the little museum, but I didnt actually get into the silo. I want to go back.

Love it!

It’s a little less comfortable now that I’m all grown up and 6’6”, but it’s still a fascinating place to visit.
