Worth visiting!
The first time I went to this place
Dinner at Summer Winter tonight with one of my sisters and my mom for the latter’s birthday. The decor is simple and elegant – lots of tile and slate and wood. You could see the greenhouse just outside the windows. I especially liked the lighting – a square within a square.
We each ordered a glass of wine and started with a selection of 3 local cheeses (Great Hill Blue from Marion, MA, a Tomme from NH and a smoked Gouda – source unknown) and some fruit and nuts.
Next we shared the garden chopped salad with three types of lettuce, avocado, jack cheese, cucumber,
tomatoes, sunflower seeds, and tarragon vinaigrette. We all had our own entrees but we shared – pepper and herb cured pork confit, baby back ribs with Justin’s BBQ sauce & Atlantic salmon with sides of potato and yam gratin and fire roasted whole red onion and bacon. It was all so fresh and delicious and came with your choice of a variety of sauces – we tried several.
Since it was my mom’s b-day we made ourselved stop eating and box up parts of our dinner so we could share a slice of Mom’s traditional Devils’ food cake with chocolate icing – moist and decadent along with cups of coffee. They even decorated the cake plate with a chocolate scripted birthday wish.
The service was wonderful and friendly but the bathroom was a huge disappointment – shared with the hotel and nasty.
