Anneke Jans

Today was the perfect Memorial Day Sunday. With a day still left in the long weekend we got up late for homemade pancakes and a long walk on the beach. After a matinee showing of the new Indiana Jones movie we ended up at the bar at Anneke Jans. I read an article a while back about Mary Ann Esposito where she mentioned enjoying this place so it has been on my list of must visits – now I see why.

The drinks menu was short but intriguing. I went the Blackberry rum cocktail and we also tried the NOT Arnold Palmer (with booze).

A quick snack turned out to be a dinner of oysters on the half shell with Bloody Mary mignonette followed by incredible mussels in white wine and cream with bacon, onions and topped with crumbled Great Hill Blue as well as a salad of arugula, peaches, serrano ham and ricotta salata drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar.

No room for dessert! Guess I’ll have to go back again…
