A review of this place: great space!!  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

this mostly unknown little gem could be the most pleasant, chill place to watch a movie in seattle. good pizza and microbrews are served in both the foyer (check out the awesome nouveau-artisan handmade wallpaper) and the theatre. admission is about $5, a great deal. neighborhood parking within 1-2 blocks is usually easy. the movie selections themselves are a bit obscure and arcane… but when they have something good, it’s worth seeing it here.

A nice place to watch a movie and eat good food. I would advise if you are planning to eat to get there early so as to get yer food and drink before the feature starts. Otherwise, if a lot of people are there, it could be a while before the staff can get to you.

I saw Price of Letter there today; it’s a documentary about a postal runner in Bhutan whose route takes 12+ days every month (walking! through all seasons!). Check it out if it ever gets screened here again.

Definitely check out Central Cinema! Good food, reasonable prices, comfy sofa seating, and good community intentions.

Good food, a bottle of wine, and a movie  — 3 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I heard about this place a while ago and checked it out last week. Had a pizza, a bottle of wine, some popcorn, and watched L.A. Confidential on the big screen in a nearly empty theater. The pizza and popcorn were above average, the wine satisfactorily thirst-quenching, and the whole movie-watching experience was unique—I felt like a spoiled kid to have people coming around occasionally asking me if there’s anything I’d like to eat or drink as Russell Crowe throws Kevin Spacey across the room. I don’t think this place has caught on yet, go now so you can say you were old school in a year or two.
