    Worth visiting!

The Mothman Museum, is a large “personal collection” of memorabila of several loosely associated events and the home spun legend around them.

It is a wonderful look into the human psyche’s desire to apply meaning to random events.

I don’t believe in Bigfoot, the Lochness Monster or UFOs but the 10 year old kid I was in 1978 did and if you can get in touch with your inner kid you will have a blast.

I’m hoping to go back and go camping nearby, would make for some excellent fireside story material.

    Worth visiting!

This place isn’t a grandiose over-the-top museum. It is basically a long room in an old building with a collection of newspaper clippings, artwork, and movie paraphenalia (from The Mothman Prophecies), with a video room in the back.

However it is fun, if you are into stuff like this. You can easily kill an hour and buy a tee shirt. The owner of the museum, Jeff Wamsley, is the author of two Mothman books. My 10 year old loved it. Just outside and down the street from the muesum is a 10’ tall statue of the Mothman.
