    Worth visiting!

I love this place :) I thought I was going to hate it because of the whole rivalry with Cambridge thing to be honest :P But it’s beautiful…the tall old buildings remind me of Paris.
I really hope I get to go here again :(
Say in…a couple of years time? For a longer stay? :D

How this place changed my life  — 9 months ago

    Worth visiting!

This place is amazing. I went here for a semester never have even traveling to Europe and I was in for the craziest 4 months of my life. It was an experience. I went to school, saw grand architecture, heard amazing stories, saw beautiful places and works of art, and found friendship in the place I thought least likely. I got to go to Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day, wnet to Greece for Spring Break and got to see many other mind blowing places.

An absolutely amazing city  — 10 months ago

I’m Oxford born and bred, and I really couldn’t have asked to have been bought up in a more amazing city. Yeah sure Oxford does have its rough parts [mostly East Oxford] but on the whole the city is vibrant, cultural and friendly – if a little expensive. I know some absolutely AMAZING people who live here, and there’s a large [if underground] community who are all so friendly and easy to get along with.
Oxford is one of the oldest cities in the UK, so most of our buildings are several hundred years old.
The Thames flows right through the city so we’ve got lots of gorgeous parks [Christchurch and Uni Parks to name two].

Beautiful city no matter what time of year you visit at. There’s a lot of cyclists and Oxford has a very multicultural feel to it from the large amount of students that live here.

When I come home on semester break it makes me realise just how lucky I am to live here. Nowhere else truely compares.

if you have to visit any other city in the UK that isn’t London, definitely come to Oxford. it’s quite compact so you can probably see most if not all of the city in a weekend or so, but you’ll be drawn in by it’s charm and beauty.

    Places to visit include:

    • Christchurch Meadows
    • University Parks
    • “Sunset Hill” (the mount next to the newly revamped Oxford Castle, most of Oxford’s youth refer to it as Sunset Hill for the amazing view over the city at – as you can gather, sunset)
    • Oxford University
    • Oxford Cathedral and the bridge down Catte Street
    • The covered market.
    • The gorgeous little “arty” shops down Little Clarendon Street.
    • A band [mainly local] at the Wheatsheaf or the Zodiac @ the Carling Academy.
    • Cowley Road – you’ll definitely remember this place!

There are other little nooks and crannys in Oxford that are really secluded and hidden away and absolutely gorgeous, and are only mainly known by the locals and the teens/young adults who hang out in Oxford regularly. Good luck in finding them ;]

anymore Oxford information just hit me up, I’m always happy to help :]

A tip I have about this place  — 11 months ago

    Worth visiting!

After spending only a night and a day in Oxford, I have to say I really want to come back here someday. A couple things I would recommend are the Oxford Ghost Walk, which gives a good and spooky introduction to the many colleges (most of which are haunted) and local history, and the Pitt Rivers Museum, which was packed with some of the most interesting and bizarre items I’ve seen. I especially liked the display devoted to items used Sympathetic Magical traditions across the world.

Love it. What can you say? It’s like walking into how your mind has always pictured England. Make sure to check out the surprisingly cool Museum of Natural Science, where Lewis Carroll used to hang out. Loved it.

    Worth visiting!

I started at the University last year and it has become my second home. Oxford is an extraordinary place to live; it’s a small city that feels safe even at night and one is constantly surrounded by beautiful buildings and the buzz of a student-dominated town. We all say “Oxford isnt part of the real world”, and living there proves this; it’s a gorgeous, secure, unique little bubble with loads to see at any time of year. I miss it loads when I’m home in another county and can’t wait to be back.
