Lake Bled

It was boring. Nothing to do there. And the prices of accomodation in Bled and surrounding villages are very high comparing to the rest of Slovenia.

I was born in Slovenia and lived there until I was 28, then I moved to America.
At the time when I lived in Slovenia, I hated it. Now, thinking back and looking at photos, I miss it terribly. I’ve never gone back and it will be some time before I do so, but it is more than worth visiting.

I went to Bled as a day trip while staying in Ljubljana. It is a beautiful place and I consider it a most if you are in the area.

I would say that it is very easy to visit it as a day trip. I drove there (45 mins from the capital) and it has a scenic road which surrounds the lake. You can make a several stops to enjoy the amazing views of the lake. If you follow the road you can also visit the Castle, which is really nice and with great views!

Overall, I spent ~4 hours here and it was one of the highlights of Slovenia, which I consider a beautiful country!

A favorite place…especially in the off season. Walking around this lake is a very peaceful.

If you love activities you will love Bled… canyoning, hiking, rafting, paragliding, its got everything for great value. Not quite as organised it may seem as Queenstown NZ but the activites centres are highly trustworthy the lake is STUNNING and if you stay at Jakelj Backpackers “Mamma” will cook you all you can eat for 5euros

Worth a visit.

A beautiful area. You can rent boats to go to that little island in the middle of the lake, but its better excercise to swim!

A beautiful place to practice any adventure sport like cannoeyng, to get relax, and eat so well. Slovenia is a great place to do tourism! and so economic!

In 1991 I toured Slovenia and returned a number of times. It is a beautiful part of the Alps.

Just amazing.

Climb the castle for breathtaking views of the little church on the little island in the middle of the lake.
