i think if you’re going to go to anchorage as a tourist, you’re better off to go to spenard than to downtown. in downtown you’ve got all these cheezy tourist traps and a couple of halfway decent museums… but you didn’t visit alaska for museums, did you? spenard is a real slice of alaskan culture, like it or not, all the way from koots to the crappy airport hotels, hookers n all.
