Calgary Farmers Market, Currie Barracks by FatoNera

A great place to spend a Saturday or Sunday. Lots of great food, homemade and healthy, as well as a great selection of home-grown fruit and vegetables that actually TASTE like they should. The farmers market is full of interesting things to see and do; not only that, but the Currie Barracks also has many other things to see and do after you leave the market. Go look at a selection of wine at the wine market, or have a beer at the brewery. There are various arts groups like a children’s theatre (Storybook Theatre), Blue Collar Dance Studio and The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers and much more. The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers often has public events like film screenings and filmmaking workshops, so if you’re interested in that, you can find more information on their website: www.csif.org. They are open Tues-Sat, and are less than a 5 min walk from the market, so you can go check them out after you’ve filled yourself with delicious homemade goodies.
