Red Barn Studio

I’ve been to Lindsborg several times, and I only just discovered this one. It’s incredible. The museum is the original house (it’s quite old) where Lester Raymer lived and worked for much of his life. At the beginning of the tour I asked the guide what type of art he created – paintings, sculptures – and she said “Well…as far as we know he didn’t do basket weaving.” And she wasn’t kidding, either. There were paintings, drawing, sculptures, carvings, tin stars, quilts, furniture, elaborate toys, pottery, ceramics, and pretty much anything else you can think of. All done by the same person. And his work is absolutely quality. The paintings themselves are world class. It was one of the best museums I’ve ever been to, and that includes the several I went to in France.
