Worth visiting!
A review of this place: An incredible mirror lake
Lake Matheson is stunningly gorgeous. It is located just a couple of miles away from Fox Glacier, and the town of Fox Glacier. It reflects Aoraki/Mount Cook if you walk around to the opposite side of the lake. But the absolute KEY to getting your postcard-perfect photo… you have to go EARLY EARLY EARLY in the morning, or else the clouds WILL roll in and obscure the top of the mountain (like it did for me)....the clouds ALWAYS roll in here…. don’t miss this opportunity for an amazing view and stunning pictures!
