Worth visiting!
I loved the gardens here so much that I had to revisit 4 days later!..
The 9 gardens that surround this Italian “Palazzino” are captivatingly beautiful. We enjoyed strolling through the themed gardens and taking tea in the salon. Classical music plays over loudspeakers while the fountains spray water in time with the music. The Temple of Love at the top of this garden features a stepped waterfall that leads to the central water feature and is flanked by ponds & symmetrically arranged trees & flowerbeds. Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild personally designed the villa. A renowned collector with a passion for art & luxurious surroundings she travelled the world amassing treasures to adorn this palace that took five years to construct & is a testament to the Belle Epoque. It sits on seven hectacres of land on St Jean Cap Ferrat with endless views overlooking the Cote d’Azur. Upon her death she bequeathed the proprty and 5000 works of art to the Academie des Beaux_Arts de l’Institut de France. The Villa & Jardins are are now entrusted to Culturespaces which also manages the nearby Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
