Pahranagat National Wildlife Reserve

We were returning along the Great Basin Highway (US-93) from Caliente to Las Vegas and came upon this large lake, just south of Alamo in Lincoln County. We stopped to investigate and learned that it is a huge waterfowl refuge, part of the Pacific Flyway used by migratory birds. Camping, fishing and boating are allowed, but no swimming.
