Christ Church Graveyard aka: Christ Church Burial Ground

When walking around the burial ground, you almost forget that you are in the middle of a large city; the grounds are so peaceful. Try to get there just before the top of the hour and take one of the free tours that are guide led every hour, the information is well worth it. Not only will you learn about the burial ground and the people buried there but you will also hear about life in Philadelphia from the colonial times through current day. Oh, did I mention that Benjamin Franklin and four other signers of the Declaration of Independence are buried here?

This is where Ben Franklin’s grave is, as well as the grave’s of other interesting people in US history. We followed a tour that was actually really great. Well worth the $1 (student price) to get in.
