Nairobi National Park

Nairobi National Park is located just outside of Nairobi, Kenya. The city’s skyline is easily seen from inside the park.

When I was in Nairobi we hired a taxi and had him drive through the park. I was amazed at the amount of wildlife which could be found such a short distance from a large city.

We saw zebras, gazelles, wildebeest, giraffes, gnu, ostriches, and other animals. Our driver was very accomodating to our desires to stop and take pictures. We just had to tell him when we wanted to stop.

At one point I had asked him to stop. I couldn’t get quite the picture that I wanted, so I opened the door and stood up. The driver reached across the seat, grabbed me, and pulled me back into the taxi. Then he said something to the effect of, “There are lions out there!”
