A tip I have about this place
The fried tomato sandwhich is awesome although I hate the little buns they serve it on now, I’ll see if I can get it the old way next time. Otherwise the jaegershnitzle, spatzle, and stuffed beat are amazing. No really, this funky looking joke is hiding some seriously good food. And their kitchen is open till 1 AM!!! (John, the owner, is a sweetie too!)

A review of this place
Solid german food, some interesting vegetarian selections (oven roasted beet with goat cheese/lemon sauce – most excellent!), and a nice selection of single malt scotch if you are not into beer.

Teutonic beer, hells yeah. Drinking in a restaurant, not so much.
GREAT beer selection for the Teutonic at heart, but the seating even in the bar part just feels like you’re still in a restaurant or, worse yet, a spaghetti-dinner fundraiser at an Elks lodge in some vaguely midwestern semirural locale. If you sit at the bar, though, you can look at the beauty that is you and forget about the charity bingo that should be going on around you. And even YOU start to look sexier with a pint of Hoegarten in ya.
