Linda's Tavern

This place has a great casual social vibe. The outdoor section is great during the summer.

I like this place. I find overly hip bars a little intimidating, but Linda’s feels pretty comfortable in that slightly scruffy way that the hubby and I do comfortable. The beer is good and the burgers are excellent too. When we become permanent fixtures in town (no, seriously!) this is going on the list of regular places to go.

I love Lindas beacuse I don’t feel I have to get ready to “go out”. I can throw on a tshirt, jeans and my chucks and feel comfortable, not under-dressed, and drink cheaper beer/drinks than most of the other places I go to.

The last time I went to Linda’s, a gay man in a giant pink bunny suit sold me an egg that had a coupon for a free haircut. I went to get the free haircut (at the now defunt “Hair Corral”), and it was actually possible to get your hair cut while sitting in a saddle.

The drinks are okay.
The people are okay.
The pool table is okay.
The patio is okay.

I can’t say anything bad about Linda’s but I wouldn’t put it on my Top Ten list either.

Like, several times a week since the weather’s been nice. I love it there, and the recent porch expansion is lovely. The only problem is, beer costs money. But Linda’s does have the best (in my opinion) happy hour in town. 7-9 EVERY DAY suckas’.

I like Linda’s quite a bit but I’m always intimidated because of all the attractive people (especially the wait staff, holy hell are they hot). I hate you attractive people! Hold me.

In addition to late-night sexypeoplewatching, Linda’s also has brunch. I am brunch-obsessed, so I try to eat brunch just about anywhere I can ;) They have typical fare, omelettes, pancakes, etc.. but it was better than I was expecting and reasonably priced.

I like Linda’s because unlike some of the other bars on the hill (coughCHACHAcough), it doesn’t feel nearly as uberhipstersnob/highschool- “I’m wearing the latest trendy outfit/hairstyle and OMG is that so-and-so from such-and-so band? He’s sooooo hot”). It’s more laidback… a place where if you strike up a conversation with a person you don’t know, you might have a real conversation vs. a “wanna come back to my place tonight?

Have a cheap beer, play some Bowie on the jukebox and make fun of hipsters making fun of you (or vice versa if you’re a hipster)

Always seems to be good. Must just be the crowd.
