Agen

Halfway between Bologne and Toulouse on the Canal du Midi, Agen is a bastide town settled in a curve of the Garonne river in an agricultural area famous for its prune plums. even though there’s a university with a medical school, some industrial base, and a regional judicial center, this is a medium-small town that displays the economic reality that there’s not a whole lot of work to be found outside the larger towns in France.
