Why I recommend this place to visitors — 12 months ago
Worth visiting!
If you take the water taxi from Belize City to San Pedro, Cannibal’s is the first bar/restaurant you’ll run into when you arrive. You can’t miss it! The bartender the day we were there was Nick, a Brit who had lots of energy and a fantastic sense of humor (or should I say ‘humour’?!). The other patrons were extremely friendly as well. We felt extremely welcome there!
We felt so welcome, in fact, that we were convinced by them to “miss” the taxi back to Belize City and stay the night in San Pedro. We couldn’t resist the suggestion, so we ended up staying overnight. Although Nick told us we were welcome to sleep in the hammocks at the bar, we really didn’t need to as the clubs in San Pedro stay open until pretty close to when the first water taxi heads back to the City at 7 am.
Bonus- Nick really knew how to pour a drink, let me tell ya!:)
