I live and work off of the G train! The G train is definitely better than most people give it credit for.

The G train sprint by cranberrygoddess

I think this feature deserves a separate entry.

The G train is too short for the size of its platforms, so to make sure you get on the train, you have to walk to the middle of the platform.

Of course, this causes problems when you are entering the station as you see a train come, and you have to sprint to make it. People look on with sympathy, pity, or mockery as you try to make that train.

I once did a successful G train sprint in oversized Ugg boots. I was so proud :)

This is the line that takes me home to Greenpoint from wherever it is that I’m going.

pluses: cooler in summer waiting for the train than most other lines because it is lower down. More likely to get a seat on the train because it is less full.

Minuses: doesn’t run as often, especially late nights and weekends.
