This is the line that takes me out to Shea to see the mets play, took me to the Hall of Science, took me to Jackson Heights for Indian food, as well as into grand central or times square.
Pluses: above ground means you get cell phone reception, get to see pretty views and interesting graffiti on the walls, and it is less hot waiting for the train. On the way out to Shea for a game, trains run about every 3 seconds.
Minuses: cold waiting for the train in winter. Have to swipe your metrocard again for the transfer, when you’ve forgotten and already put it deep into your bag. Can get wet on the walk between trains because you have to leave the station.
The station rocks when trains go by – is this a plus or a minus?
