Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

The almost unbelievably minor road from Lochinver to Achiltibuie passes through the tiny settlement of Inverkirkaig, near the coast and at the mouth of a small but swift salmon river.
It’s hard to credit but here, beyond the back of Beyond, there’s a really good book shop as well as a cafe.
There’s a track leading up to the lovely Kirkaig Falls and later [much later!] to Suilven, not very high but beautifully shaped and one of the most remote mountains in the UK.
Do drive slowly around here. The road is one of the most scenic you will find anywhere but its very narrow and twisting.
