Alas, I just could not get up early enough to visit the flower market which kicks off at 6am. By the time I walked through here just after 8am, the stalls were nearly all packed away, but the market stalls selling food and gifts were just setting up.

It smells wonderful – a mixture of spices, lavender and baking.

filled with fresh olives,flowers,spices,paintings,fruits vegetables and plants. This open air Farmer’s Market is located in Old Nice a few blocks off the Promenade d’Anglaise. Take in all the sights,sounds & aromas of this quintessential daily market scene. Enjoy a leisure lunch at one of the many bistros along the sidewalk & do some people watching as well! I purchased a small spoon & fork carved from olivewood to toss salads at home & an olivewood bowl to serve you guessed it! Olives! Wish I had more space in my luggage to pack more treasures.
