Colombe D'Or

Colombe D’Or is a Must See if you go to St. Paul De Vence. It’s a quirky unique Hotel/Restaurant filled with wonderful art that was created by some of the most reknown artists in history, Chagall, Miro,Matisse,Calder,Picasso,Leger,Braque,Giacometti.. They gave their art in exchange for their food & board.It’s displayed throughout the private grounds which we explored prior to a 2hour!leisure lunch in the art-filled restaurant. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and has a sculpture by Calder at one end. Surrounded by lovely mature plantings with a view of the French hillside that is straight out of a painting.The multi coloured tile roof was delightful to see and made me wish we had one just like it our own cottage at home. Colombe D’Or is located at the base of the medevial village of St.Paul de Vence.
