Annual Decorator Show House

This year the show hous is McIntire Farm. The dates are July 18, 2009 – August 15th, 2009. When I tried to add this event I realized that Events have been deleted. Bummer. All the past entries and Events I had are lost forever. Boo.

Anyway – I am going to try to see this show house in late July.

Open July 14th through August 11th, this year’s decorator show house in right in York Harbor. I’ve driven past Mayfair many times and am thrilled to get inside and see all the cool touches.

A little inspiration for my unfinished projects? We shall see.

Tomorrow is the last day this house is open as I squeaked in to see it before it closes. Each room or area of the house is decorated by a different area designer – some is stately, some whimsical and it is all pretty beautiful. You can buy things if someone else has not already claimed it (and if you are willing to pay $1200 for a chair). I always pretend I am getting ideas for my own place but never implement them. Maybe I should make a decorating goal over on 43 Things???

In 2006 the Old York Historical Society has chosen Hillside Cottage. The house is open from July 15th through August 12th Monday, Wednesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday until 7p.m. & Sunday 1 – 4p.m. (closed Tuesday). There is a $20 charge & free parking on site.

I try to see the show house every year. It always gives me great ideas (which I rarely implement) or at least lets me see a glimpse as to how the other half live!
