Aghia Marina

We came to this place by default. Our vacation rental didn’t start until two days after we arrived; we wanted to go someplace to hang out until then and Aegina was one of the closest islands and thus one of the most accessible. Once we arrived in Aegina, we discovered there were no rooms to be had in the town of Aegina and the agent suggested we try Aghia Marina on the other side of the island, which we did. One long bus ride later - standing and hanging onto a strap and getting thrown as the vehicle rounded curves and went up and down inclines - we arrived to find there were indeed rooms available in Aghia Marina. Our hotel was brand new; the plaster was almost still wet on the walls. But it was a very relaxing stay.
