Worth visiting!
Worth it...
...just for the boat trip and the view of Marseille from the island. “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexander Dumas is set here. You can walk all around the prison and into the cells, which is quite uncomfortable as many of them are underground with absolutely no light. The boats leave from Marseille’s port regularly (about every 30 minutes).
