Double Arch

Double Arch, it is a very short and easy hike from the parking area to the arch. When you get there, there is always plenty of shade to sit in, and the sandstone feels nice and cool.

The fact that there are two arches here is interesting enough, but the careful observer will find evidence of a third arch which was also here at one time.

Double Arch also has a claim to fame in that it was featured in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It was at Double Arch where a young Indiana Jones found a cave which contained the Cross of Coronado. Sadly enough, the cave was just a figment of a Hollywood producer’s imagination. There is no such cave to be found here.
