The Walls Of Carcassone

I did a circuit of the city inside the walls, and a partial one outside. The outside one was much quieter, in fact, there were only a couple of other people who seemed to have the same idea.

Now and again I spotted blokes dressed in military period costume riding alongside the walls. They later did a battle reenactment in the dry moat just outside the main gate.

Surrounded by castle walls, cobblestone streets with small inns and shops. I would love to spend a few weeks absorbing the culture here. It’s so beautiful.
