Worth visiting!
Untitled
We stopped in here for a short while on our way from Rainbow Springs State Park to Ocala National Forest. The thought of seeing more crystal clear water springs was irresistable (plus, we wanted to add another state park visit to our list) We walked the river trail down to the viewpoint, and I chased down bugs in the forest to photograph along the way. There was a sign at the beginning of the trail indicating that we should look out for black bears, but sadly we didn’t see any.
While this park was pretty, my personal opinion is that it is not anywhere near as spectacular as Rainbow Springs. Maybe having gone there first spoiled us a little. And maybe comparing them is unfair – they are two completely different parks with different things to offer. Nontheless I am very grateful that there are people working hard to protect Florida’s natural habitat, and it’s definitely worth the visit if you’re in the area.
PS. To the ranger who was working the entrance on Sunday the 27th May – you rock! Thanks for being so friendly! :)
