Soot Bull Jeep

This Koreatown Korean BBQ joint is different than most others because you actually grill your own food. Yes indeed. You order from the menu, and the waitress brings you over whatever kind of meat or seafood that you ordered -raw. You then take some tongs and cook the thin slices of meat over the pit in the middle of your table. You also get a plate of some lettuce and other raw veggies, a bowl of kimchi, a bowl of soup, and a bowl of rice. You are supposed to make a kind of rollup with this - a kind of Korean taco if you will, by taking some lettuce, putting some bean paste in it, then some meat and rice, and eating it like that.

This is a fun place. It’s really smoky, so wear clothes that you can wash easily. The waitresses don’t really speak English, but that’s not a problem, because you can just point at the menu. They are really friendly and nice there. And one order provides lots of food, I’d say enough for two people.
