East Grand Rapids

I lived here for a while, and it showed me what I wanted in a city. I was able to be close to the arts (as much as anywhere in Michigan HAD arts at the time), could walk to Uncommon Ground (excellent coffee) and other life necessity shopping, etc. It’s a nice place to live, if you don’t mind the crushing boredom and the achingly self rightous church goers. Although, EGR was better for those things than MOST of West Michgan.
