A tip I have about this place
If you are Jewish and traveling in The Old City, DO NOT WANDER AROUND WHERE YOU DON’T KNOW YOU’RE GOING!!!! USE A MAP!!!! USE A GUIDE!!! USE A GUIDEBOOK!!!! Believe me, you DO NOT want to ACCIDENTALLY WANDER into the wrong neighborhood where YOU DON’T SPEAK THE LANGUAGE. If you speak PERFECT ARABIC, in the PROPER DIALECT and in the PROPER ACCENT, and YOU ARE MIZRAHI, or YOU LOOK MIZRAHI, than your’e ok. DON’T BE AN AMATUER in THE WRONG NIEGHBORHOOD.
AMATUERUS, NOVICES, NEW PEOPLEPLEASE STICK TO THE JEWISH QUARTER and the
WELL TRAVELED (BY OBIVIOUS JEWS) AREAS OF THE CHRISTIAN QUARTER.
