"Happify"
I first went here as a camper in 6th grade. I was fortunate enough to go back as a counselor for a week during my senior year in high school. This is a great place. I hope one day my kids can have their week of fun at camp too.

Worth visiting!
This is where I started to turn *green* !!
In 1967, my sixth grade class got out of school for a week long stay at this Conservation Camp. Upon arrival we were greeted by a large cut out of Smokey the Bear reminding us that only “we” could prevent forest fires! We got to sleep in cabins and meet other students from the Highline School District that were here as well to learn about nature & how to “conserve” our environment. We learned about salmon and their habitat,& each were given a Dixie cup containing a baby salmon that we released into the stream! We hiked through the Cedar River watershed, toured the Power Plant at Snoqualmie Falls, hiked to Twin Falls, which we dubbed “sponge rock”. This was such an enriching experience for all of us. I’m sure the program’s coverage of recycling is more in-depth for today’s students. Weyerhauser also gave each of us a Western Hemlock seedling to take home. A few of us asked our teacher if we could plant them on the playground at school & we were allowed to plant them along the perimeter. I was sad to see that someone had “topped” these trees a few years ago when I drove by my old elementary school. I’ll always remember the first teacher I met at Camp Waskowitz, Mr Lemon. His introduction to us was, “you’ve all seen a fuzzy peach- now meet a Harry Lemon!” He was a sweetie!
