it’s actually the Giant Steps, just to clarify.

i stayed down the street from here this summer & hiked here twice— definitely worth visiting, especially in the late afternoon and/or when the tide’s coming in.

watch out for poison ivy though!

The Giant's Steps by survive1999

My father was in the US Naval reserve and we spent many summers out on Bailey Island. Every day I would walk down from Macral Cove to the Giant’s Steps. The strat of the rocks are inverted and the rocks look like drift wood.

Don’t be fooled the area near the giant steps can be dangerous. If you fall in the water near the steps you will be slammed into the roclks repeatedly and there is no place to get on dry ground for quite a ways.

This place is just kind of “elemental”.

When I got married I took my wife here, she took 3 rolls of film and loved walking on the rocks with me.
