Mission Bar

My friend & I stumbled into this place & immediately felt right at home. Bear in mind that we both have an affinity for dive bars.

My friend H and I met for breakfast in Nob Hill, then went to Bernal Heights and had lunch, then climbed over the hill to the Mission in search of alcohol. It was hard to find a restaurant with a liquor license and hard to find a bar that was open for business that early. But we found this place on Mission between 22nd and 23rd and it was perfect. Rather divy, had posters from old Sonny Liston bouts on the walls and a very well-stocked juke box. For most of the time we were there we were the only ones in the place (until after 3:00). The drinks were on special and stiff.
