The entrance bathed in magenta light gives the impression that you are about to enter a hidden basement bar. This feeling quickly changes once you enter the long corridor with a gently curving glass floor and by the time you reach the main door, you wonder what sort of place you are about to find behind. Whatever you have in mind, it surely isn’t the immense space of this converted warehouse. The ground floor is a large bar with impossibly high ceilings and a DJ pumping music through the speakers. In the mezzanine is a restaurant. Even though it is large, the place can get very busy and is known for being a favourite with some A list celebrities. This and the fact that it is in Chelsea explain the slightly higher than average prices.

The Collection is one of those places that makes the London night life the vibrant experience that it is: the ingenious use of an old building, a nice restaurant, a great bar, good music and friendly staff. It all works. Forget about the prices, it’s nice to treat yourself sometimes.
