the youth hostels
youth hostels are worth visiting, though the one I spent my 2 1/2 weeks did have a curfew it was worth it. Bus tours are given to the Palace Royale and the town square is in the center of the city where it is in walking distance of the Cathedral, the Aquaduct, and the Castle.

The last time I went to this place
Segovia was the second day trip I went on after Toledo and I was completely taken aback by the city. When you walk through it you can pretend you’re in another time save for the anachronistic graffiti. It was very strange to see graffiti and stencils (mostly of a political nature) adorning the stone walls. In the plaza there was a really cool graffiti art installation featuring the work of 8 different artists. The juxtaposition of the colorful modern art and the aqueduct was a sight to behold to be sure.

A review of this place: Like a fairy tale!
I lived with a host family here for a semester back in 2000. I’ve visted a few times since then as well. It is a lovely, enchanting small town with a castle, an aqueduct, a cathedral and lots of segovianos strolling up and down the narrow streets. Definitely worth checking out!

A tip I have about this place
It sounds really bad, and I know some people will hate me for this. But the cochinilla (suckling pig) is an amazing dish. I wouldn’t eat it all the time, but it is the local specialty, and it is so good. It was one of the highlights of my day visit to Segovia.
