Grants

my parents ended up in Grants after looking for a friend who had had an auto accident in a horrible rainstorm that washed out a lot of roads. They found her car and a policeman who told them that their friend was in the hospital being checked out but seemed ok. So they went to the hospital, which was running on generators as the power had gone out. By the time they got out of there they were starved and ended up at a restaurant that was in the old train depot and had been a “Harvey” restaurant. Dad told me to have lunch there today. I stopped in at the post office to send my rent check priority mail (since I had forgotten to leave it before I left) and asked the postal clerk about it. “Oh that place,” she said. “I think that it was open about a week. None of us even got to try it.”
