Arrive early for brunch by MFM
We got to the city at 10:15 and found a street parking spot just around the corner which was a GREAT omen. It was raining a but but we were under a awning and 2nd on line so as soon as the doors opened we got a seat.
I had a Mexican hot chocolate (cinnamon added) and we shared some wonderful guacamole as a starter. Our order had to include something with mole sauce since that is one of Rick Bayless’ signature dishes so the 2nd dish was carne asada. Both were excellent. The steak in the carne asada was perfectly medium rare and was gorgeous with the over easy eggs and slices of fried plantain with sour cream.
We were too full for dessert (and actually for dinner later that night) but we did walk around the corner to Xoco to get some churros for later.
