I love the Chiricahuas. It’s god’s greatest playground. So many boulders to climb, so many hiking trails, the smell of greasewood and cottonwood, the fresh air……And best of all, it’s out of the way enough to not be crowded.
Unfortunately, I hear now that the strife along the Mexican border has reached this beautiful place. And it’s become somewhat dangerous for campers who come into contact with drug-runners who hide out here. So check with your Park Ranger Service before heading out for safety tips and so forth.
